Winning the toss was as good as it got for us as the home side smashed 292-5. James Upton was sniped from one of the surrounding houses within 4 overs as his hamstring went, meaning we had to field a man down for the rest of the innings. Both openers scored 50s whilst their number 4 tee’d off hitting 130 not out. Sam Rogers was the pick of the bowlers taking 2 wickets, Mark Griffiths and Ben Jones picked up one each.

In reply, Griffer hit the most glorious 20 you will ever see including 2 quality cover drives. However, despite some resistance we were bowled out for 94.

Despite the result we did take some positives as Alexis Newman returned earlier than expected from a horrific leg break. In addition to this, Jake Upton hit an unbeaten 33 on 1st team debut.
