Despite all the poor weather Oswestry CC worked miracles to prepare a wicket for our U13 visit in the Cup. Credit to their Ground team for all the work done to get the game on.
We won the toss and elected to field. Some tight bowling and committed fielding, restricted Oswestry to 81 for 6 from their 20 overs. Wickets were shared around, of note were two fantastic catches that set the tone for our performance. One by Olly Tuitt to remove their opener and other a sharp return c&b by Will Morris, both of the highest quality.
In reply, Paddy Morison held the innings together with an accomplished 29. At the halfway point the batters were digging in at 37 for 1 and a tight finish looked on the cards. However, Jake Upton provided the impetus required with a quick fire 19 off 14 balls to swing the result in our favour from which Oswestry never recovered. We registered the result with nearly 3 overs to spare.
This is a fantastic result for the team and the club, proving that we are moving in the right direction.
