After last week’s performance against Cae Glas, it was Condovers turn to be on the end of a battering as we were very much second best on Saturday.
The visitors opening pair piled on the runs after being asked to bat first, as both batsman passed fifty. Condover kept on going as Robbie Barker, Ben Jones and Andy Mottram all picked up a wicket each. However the highlight of the innings from a Condover perspective was the bowling performance of 16 year old debutant Anthony Smith. Although he didn’t claim a wicket, Anthony bowled a good spell and can consider himself quite unlucky. Quatt finished on 235-3 from their 40 overs.
Condover’s reply was interrupted by the fall of regular wickets therefore ensuring all would be home in time for the football! Eventually we were bowled out for 56 inside 24 overs. Despite this result, heads didn’t drop and the game was played in good spirit and it was still an enjoyable day out at one of the best grounds in the county.
Next week we look to bounce back at home to Broseley and look forward to our 2nd team finally returning to action.
