Our under 13 and under 15 sides were once again in league action this week, and both sides came out with victories.
Monday evening saw the under 15s gain a convincing win against Alberbury. Condover were asked to bat first and racked up 152-5 from their 20 overs. Tom D (26) and Finn (19) laid the foundations from the top of the order. Some tidy middle order runs from Will D (32 ret), Olly (18) and Lucas (16no) boosted the innings total.
The visitors were bowled out for 43 in the 19th over and this was down to some very decent spells of bowling from Condover. Olly and Will capped off good all round displays from them both with two wickets each. Rowan bowled well and claimed two for himself, not an easy feat as a spinner in t20 cricket! Lucas and Bryan also chipped in with one each. Well done guys!
On Wednesday night our under 13s faced Shelton in what was a clash of the unbeaten sides in the division. Condover chose to bowl first and started well as Aris made an early breakthrough. In the middle overs Rosie and Ollie T kept the runs down and also picked up two wickets each which were fully deserved. Will also claimed a wicket at the death as our visitors reached 92-6 off their 20 overs.
In response Olly held the innings together as he retired on 30. There were also some good contributions from Jake (13) and Ben (14) as we managed to chase down the target with 11 balls left. A great team effort with some much tighter bowling and a better performance in the field.
