Apologies to our under 15 team for the lateness of this report!
Our under 15s started off their league campaign with a home victory against local rivals Beacon. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first, with their number 3 batsman scoring a well played 32 not out. Beacon’s side also included a youngster who has recently become a regular in their first eleven, always good to see junior players getting opportunities in senior cricket. Despite a fairly tidy bowling performance all round, it was Will D and Tom F who picked up the wickets as Beacon scored 117-3 off 20 overs.
In reply, Beacons very fast bowler caused our lineup a few problems! However the Condover side showed a lot of fight and determination. Will D completed a solid all round effort scoring 16. Captain Finn led the charge in the middle order crashing 23 with 4 consecutive boundaries. In what ended up a very tense finish, Sam L held his nerve to nearly see us over the line with 16. With 2 balls left Condover secured the victory in what was a great advert for junior cricket.
